Sep 08, 2009 · Best Answer: wado ryu is one of the many off shots of shotokan, most of the kata names are the okinawa names, and i believe wado ryu kata are more closer to the okinawa versions. shotokan can range any were from the original 18 kata to 26 kata depending on the organization. the stance are much longer and deeper.
